I can tell you from my own experience " it is well worth it ".....and surely you'll not regret that you have done this step.....but let's leave the lines below to tell you more about this 'world' in which you're preparing to enter.

My first thought
Although it sounds good and it takes you dreaming on a trip around the world, to work on a cruise ship and live there at the same time is not always easy and just does not suit everyone.
Cruise Ships Employment is not for every person. There is a great amount of discipline, responsibilities and hard work required. Applicants should be "Team Players" and enjoy working with people, to be able to live and share relatively limited space with fellow crew members, to work away from home for a long period of time (a few months) and before everything else to be very much Service Oriented. There is nothing more important than Safety and Quality of Service onboard of a cruise ship.

On the other hand you have to know that there are numerous advantages about working on cruise ships. Saving substantial amount of money for a short period of time, traveling around the world, meeting people from many different nationalities and cultures, developing professional skills and gaining working experience.
